Weekend festivals hot sheet

Also on the calendar this weekend:

SeaTac International Festival. Grab some festival food to go with the colorful acts that range from Japanese taiko to juggling to French street music. Highlights include the popular circus train, Saturday's parade and Sunday's electric-model-hydroplane race.

Greenway Days . You'll find activities buzzing in several cities that line Interstate 90. Communities from Bellevue to Mercer Island to Issaquah, Snoqualmie Pass and Cle Elum, Kittitas County, are holding festivals, bike rides, relay races, scavenger hunts and more this Saturday and Sunday. On the Meadowbrook Farm in North Bend on Saturday, participants can fly a kite, take a nature walk or join a gunny-sack race. Bring your pooch on a leash to tackle the agility course, just one of the farm's many dog-friendly activities. In Issaquah, listen to rock 'n' roll from the 1950s and '60s while admiring vintage and classic cars Sunday.

Greenwood Classic Car and Rod Show. More than 500 cars, from hot rods to muscle cars and hopping low riders, will line streets of Seattle's Greenwood District, along with bands, food vendors and craft booths.

Strawberry Festival in Old Bellevue . There's a strawberry shortcake-eating contest at this Eastside festival. There'll be clowns and face-painting and a Sunday Classic Auto Show.

Skandia Midsommarfest . Celebrate the season with live music and dancing with traditional Scandinavian music on three stages in Kenmore on Sunday. Sample meatballs or fish balls with potatoes and lingonberry sauce. Marvel at the 55-foot midsummer pole and dance to traditional Scandinavian music. Or join the famous Viking fish toss at the Poulsbo Midsommer celebration Saturday and stay until evening to gather around the bonfire.

Sand and Sawdust Festival . Watch sandcastles go up and chainsaw carvers compete at Ocean Shores, Grays Harbor County, where more than 80 craft and food vendors will be on hand Friday through Sunday.
