Snow sports Silver Mountain will open the snow season Friday, thanks to the recent turn in weather and continued snowfall. "The runs that will be open will have good coverage," said Dave Bishop, the resort's Ski Patrol Director. Silver Mountain is 75 miles east of Spokane in Idaho. Chairlifts 1 and 2, as well as the handle tow will be open accessing limited intermediate and beginner terrain. "We could possibly open more terrain depending how much more snow we receive," said Bishop. Silver Mountain will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, Friday through Sunday. The resort will be closed midweek. Bishop emphasized that skiing and boarding on closed terrain is prohibited.
