VICTORIA. B.C. — Kent Simpson made 29 saves, and the Everett Silvertips earned a 3-2 road victory against the Victoria Royals on Tuesday night.
Cody Fowlie scored in the first period, and Dominik Bittner made it 2-0 with 1:27 left in the second period.
Ben Walker brought Victoria to 2-1 at 5:24 of the third period, but Ryan Harrison scored six minutes later for a 3-1 lead.
Brandon Magee made it 3-2 on a power-play goal with 48 seconds remaining.
Notes
• George Irvine of Washington and Steve Puidokas of Washington State have been selected as the Pac-12 Hall of Honor inductees. The conference will honor 11 former student-athletes and one former coach with their induction into the Pac-12 men's basketball Hall of Honor during next month's Pac-12 tournament.
Irvine led the Huskies in scoring in both his junior (15.6) and senior seasons (20.0).
Puidokas left WSU as the Cougars' all-time leading scorer with 1,894 points and all-time leading rebounder (992).
• Mary McCagg and twin sister Elizabeth McCagg Hills will both be inducted into the National Rowing Hall of Fame in Mystic, Conn., on March 10.
The sisters finished fourth in the 1996 Atlanta Games in women's eight and sixth in the same event at the 1992 Barcelona Games. Elizabeth also was sixth in the 2000 Sydney Games.
They are the daughters of Ted McCagg, who twice finished second in Olympic trials (1960 and 1964).
