Snow keeps piling up in the mountains, and most of it is being measured in feet as opposed to inches.

Mount Baker has been buried in more than 9 feet of new snow, and in the past 24 hours 13 more inches have fallen to create a base depth total of 143 inches.

Snow base depths at lower-elevation areas like The Summit at Snoqualmie are topping 90 inches, with work crews conducting daily avalanche control on I-90 to keep the roads clear for skiers, snowboarders and those traveling across the pass.

Areas to the south in Oregon, and to the east in Idaho have also been pummeled by snow, with more than 5 feet of fresh powder falling in less than a week.

Snow continued to fall on Thursday, and 3 to 12 additional inches are expected before the area gets a temporary break heading into this weekend.

That means sunny skies with plenty of untracked powder in the coming days.
