Top-ranked Djokovic says

he has more to prove

No. 1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia is 64-2 this year, yet sees room for improvement.

He won three of the four 2011 Grand Slam tournaments — the Australian Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open — and talks about adding to his collection.

"There is a lot more to prove, a lot more tournaments to win," Djokovic told media at the Empire State Building on Tuesday, a day after he beat defending champion Rafael Nadal of Spain in the U.S. Open final in New York.

Djokovic has earned more than $10.6 million this year, an ATP Tour record for a season.

And that's not all: Djokovic gained attention for his spot-on impersonations of other players (Nadal, Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova, among others) and said he wants to pursue acting.

"I just think show business is something that attracts me, that I really like watching, that I like being a part of," said Djokovic, 24.

Monday's final generated a 2.6 overnight rating on CBS, up 18 percent from a 2.2 overnight for the start of last year's match between the same players. The end of the 2010 men's final moved to ESPN2 because of rain delays.

• USC basketball guard Jio Fontan had surgery to repair a torn knee ligament and is expected to miss the season. Fontan, a senior who averaged 10.5 points last season, was injured Aug. 16 in a game during the Trojans' exhibition tour in Brazil.

• Florida basketball forward Cody Larson settled a criminal-trespass charge stemming from his arrest in April. According to a deferred-prosecution agreement filed in St. Johns County, Larson must perform 200 hours of community service, pay $200 in fees and can't consume alcohol or controlled substances for a year. Larson, who is suspended from team activities, also must serve one year of supervised probation.

Larson, who is from South Dakota, was on probation when he and teammate Erik Murphy were charged with trying to break into a car outside a St. Augustine, Fla., bar. In May 2010, Larson received a 120-day suspended jail sentence and two years of probation in South Dakota for allegedly sharing prescription medication with a high-school teammate.

It is possible Larson will have to serve jail time in South Dakota for violating terms of his probation.
