MADISON, Ill. — Kyle Busch continued his domination of the NASCAR Nationwide Series with a victory in the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 Saturday night.

Busch, who leads the Nationwide standings, won for the sixth time in 19 races this season and also earned the 27th victory of his career.

Reed Sorenson finished second and Carl Edwards was third. Mike Bliss and Brad Coleman rounded out the top five.

Derrike Cope of Spanaway finished 38th of 43. Kevin Hamlin of Snohomish had an electrical problem and was last.

Busch, who started from the fifth row, has finished first or second in the past seven Nationwide races.

Driving a Toyota, Busch was one of four full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers competing in the event, with the top-level Sprint Cup Series taking the weekend off. Edwards, Sorenson, and Kevin Harvick also race regularly on the Sprint Series.

Busch took the lead on Lap 172 of the 200-lap event when Harvick ran out of gas.

Notes

Ron Hornaday Jr. held off a late surge from Mike Skinner to win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta. It was the third victory in a row for the series points leader.

Hornaday, a three-time series champion, became the first driver to win twice in the 10-year history of the Built Ford Tough 225. He previously won in 2006 at the 1 ½-mile track.

The race was slowed by seven cautions, including three in the final 20 laps.

• Three-time champion Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima has been chasing the 10-minute barrier in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for years.

He will have plenty of company today in Colorado for his next assault on the record. Four-time Swedish rally champion Andreas Eriksson and two-time world rally champion Marcus Gronholm will drive supercharged Ford Rallycross Fiestas in the Unlimited class along with Tajima, who set the race record of 10 minutes, 1.408 seconds two years ago.

A total of 163 drivers in 17 classes will race 12.42 miles to the top of the 14,110-foot mountain.
