Winger's deal with Vancouver is worth $7.5 million: Right wing Mikael Samuelsson signed a $7.5 million, three-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.

"Obviously [the money]was the key, I shouldn't lie," Samuelsson said in a conference call after signing the deal.

Samuelsson, 32, spent the past four seasons in Detroit, winning the Stanley Cup in 2008 and falling one game short this year. He had 19 goals and 21 assists in the 2008-09 regular season and was part of Sweden's gold-medal-winning team at the 2006 Olympics.

He is the third forward to leave the Red Wings this week. Marian Hossa and Tomas Kopecky became Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday.

Colorado trades Smyth to Kings: The Los Angeles Kings acquired left wing Ryan Smyth, 33, from Colorado for defensemen Kyle Quincey, 23, and Tom Preissing, 30, and a fifth-round draft choice next year.

Smyth scored 26 goals last season.

Nash, Blue Jackets agree on extension: Left wing Rick Nash and the Columbus Blue Jackets have reached agreement on an eight-year, $62.4 million contract extension through the 2017-18 season.

Nash, 25, scored 40 goals last season.

Final chapter: Anaheim Ducks forward Teemu Selanne, 39, said the 2009-10 season will be his last. Selanne is a 10-time All-Star.

Powell won in 10.07 seconds, with runner-up Daniel Bailey of Antigua finishing in the same time. It was Powell's second race after returning from an ankle injury.

Sanya Richards of the United States won the women's 400 meters in 49.23 for the fastest time of the year. She has not lost a 400 in a Golden League meet since 2004.

Ex-Hawaii QB Chang is arrested on suspicion of robbery: Former Hawaii quarterback Timmy Chang, 27, has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released without charges, pending further investigation.

Chang was arrested at his home Thursday after a woman alleged her camera was taken from her while she was filming a brawl last month in Honolulu.

A man, identified by police as Chang, told the woman to stop filming the fight. Police said a struggle ensued and the suspect allegedly took the camera and threw it on the roof of a nearby building.

Chang holds the NCAA career record in passing yards with 17,072. He last played in the Canadian Football League and was released by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in February.
