Moore of Puyallup shoots a 65: Kenny Perry followed up his opening 61 with a 68 Friday and held a two-stroke lead over Ryan Moore of Puyallup when thunderstorms halted the second round of the Travelers Championship, a PGA Tour event in Cromwell, Conn.

Moore shot a 5-under-par 65 to move into second place at 9-under 131 and said conditions allowed him to go for the pin.

"That's what I was doing, and that really doesn't happen very much," he said.

Kyle Stanley of Gig Harbor shot a 67 and was tied for ninth place at 7 under; this tournament is the former Clemson golfer's pro debut.

Lucas Glover, who won the U.S. Open on Monday, was tied for 45th at 4 under.

Shin leads Wegmans LPGA: South Korean Jiyai Shin shot a 4-under 68 to lead the storm-disrupted Wegmans LPGA in Rochester, N.Y., at 11-under 133.

Seventy-one players are to complete their second round this morning, including American Morgan Pressel (second at 8 under with five holes to play in the second round).

Daly is ordered to pay legal fees: Pro golfer John Daly has been ordered to pay $271,764 in legal fees for his unsuccessful libel lawsuit against The Florida Times-Union of Jacksonville.

Duval County Circuit Judge Hugh Carithers dismissed Daly's suit in March, ruling ex-columnist Mike Freeman's statements about Daly in a 2005 column were either true or constitutionally protected opinion.

Jurevicius sues Browns, Cleveland Clinic: Ex-Cleveland Browns receiver Joe Jurevicius sued the team and the Cleveland Clinic, saying the team misrepresented the cleanliness of its training facility and blaming doctors with negligence over a staph infection in his right knee that kept him from playing last season.

The 34-year-old Jurevicius, who was released by the Browns in March, has said he contracted staph after arthroscopic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in January 2008.

As a result, the former Seahawk's lawsuit said, "Jurevicius may never be able to play professional football again."

Jaguars, Lions reportedly agree on trade: The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to trade receiver Dennis Northcutt, 31, to Detroit for Lions safety Gerald Alexander, 24, according to Jerome Stanley, the agent for both players.

The Ducks received forward Joffrey Lupul, defenseman Luca Sbisa, first-round draft picks in 2009 and 2010 and a conditional third-round pick in 2010 or 2011.

Pronger, 34, was the league's most valuable player for the 1999-2000 season, when he played for the St. Louis Blues.
