Washington's Kyle Conley, a junior outfielder from Richland, was named to the All-Pac-10 baseball first team for the second consecutive year.
Washington State had three players on the first team — pitchers Jeremy Johnson of Centralia and Matt Way of Sitka, Alaska, and outfielder Jared Prince of Poulsbo.
Stanford's Kellen Kiilsgaard, a sophomore outfielder from Auburn High School, was also selected.
Arizona State's Jason Kipnis was named player of the year, and ASU's Mike Leake was pitcher of the year.
Notes
• Washington State basketball players DeAngelo Casto and Klay Thompson have been selected to try out for the national U-19 men's team June 16-18 in Colorado Springs, Colo. WSU was the only school with multiple invitees on the 17-player list. Only one other Pac-10 player, UCLA's Drew Gordon, was invited.
• Will Crothers and Rob Gibson of Washington and Mitch Williams of Washington State were named to the Pac-10 men's all-conference rowing team. Erica Lewis of Washington State and Adrienne Martello of Washington were named to the women's team. Thirteen men and 13 women were selected.
• Mercer Island's Charlie Kern fired an 11-under par 61 in the final round to win his division at the International Junior Golf Tour's Tournament of Champions in Orlando, Fla., last weekend.
• Longview/Kelso has been awarded an expansion franchise in the West Coast League, a five-year-old wood-bat summer baseball league for college players.
