Astana rider got support from teammate Armstrong, who was seventh: American Levi Leipheimer of the Astana team won his third consecutive Tour of California on Sunday in Escondido.

Lance Armstrong, who began a comeback last month, spent much of the nine-day event in support of teammate Leipheimer. Armstrong, a seven-time Tour de France winner, finished seventh overall.

The 96.8-mile final stage in San Diego County featured a gut-busting ride up Palomar Mountain, where the cyclists reached the 5,123-foot level on a two-lane highway with 21 switchbacks.

Pistorius is injured in boat crash: Double-amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius suffered head and facial injuries in a boat accident Saturday night, but his manager said he expects the South African athlete will be back on the track soon.

Pistorius, nicknamed "Blade Runner" for the carbon-fiber prosthetic blades he uses in races, had surgery Sunday and was in stable condition in the intensive care unit of a Johannesburg hospital where he was taken after the accident.

"Everything can be repaired surgically," said Anchen Laubscher, the principal medical officer of the emergency service that evacuated Pistorius. "He is fine. His brain is functioning normally."

Manager Peet van Zyl said Pistorius still hoped to compete in the 100- and 400-meter races at the Paralympic World Championships in May in Manchester, England. The 22-year-old Pistorius is the Paralympic gold medalist in the two disciplines, along with the 200 meters.

Pistorius was boating with a friend on the Vaal river near Johannesburg when the boat apparently hit something, Laubscher said.

Source says Colts' Harrison is reluctant to take a pay cut: Receiver Marvin Harrison's reluctance to take a pay cut could mark the end of his stay with the Indianapolis Colts.

Colts president Bill Polian told reporters at the annual scouting combine the team was trying to rework Harrison's deal to lower his salary-cap number from approximately $13.4 million, the highest number for a receiver in the league.

A person familiar with the negotiations, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Harrison "probably would not be interested in" taking a pay cut.

Roddick earns 27th career ATP title: Andy Roddick won his first title of 2009 and the 27th of his career, beating Czech Radek Stepanek 7-5, 7-5 in the final of the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships in Memphis, Tenn.

The active men's players with more titles are Roger Federer (57) of Switzerland and Rafael Nadal (32) of Spain.

Beckham confirmed he would rather stay with Milan than return to the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer. The Galaxy loaned Beckham, 33, to AC Milan.

"I want to remain with Milan, I've heard nothing from Galaxy, but when it's like this, you say it could be good news," Beckham said.

Schwarzenegger says drugs have no place in sports: California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is no stranger to athletic competition — or to steroids.

The former champion bodybuilder said there is no place for drugs in sports these days.

Schwarzenegger, a former action star, contends competition drives some athletes to use drugs. His advice: "Come out, be clean and say, 'Look, I used that, I made a mistake.' "

Schwarzenegger has said in the past that he used steroids in his bodybuilding days, before they became illegal without a prescription.
