LOS ANGELES — The 10th-ranked Washington volleyball team snapped USC's 32-match winning streak Saturday at the Galen Center, defeating the No. 11 Trojans 22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 15-9.
USC had not lost a home match since the center opened in 2006.
Becky Perry led the offensive charge for the Huskies (13-3, 4-2 Pac-10), picking up her first double-double of the season with a match-high 24 kills and 13 digs.
In other Pac-10 action, No. 8 UCLA (12-4, 2-3) swept visiting Washington State (7-10, 0-6) 25-22, 25-18, 25-14.
UW softball wins two
The Washington softball team won both of its games on the second day of the Husky Softball Fall Classic.
The Huskies beat Central Washington 6-1 and shut out Simon Fraser 12-0 to improve to 4-0 in the fall exhibition season.
Against Simon Fraser, UW pitcher Danielle Lawrie struck out 12 batters and allowed just three hits. The Huskies scored eight runs in the third inning.
In other games, Western Washington beat Seattle University 4-0 and then defeated Lower Columbia College 6-1; CWU defeated Seattle U. 3-0.
SPU runner sets record
SAN DIEGO — Seattle Pacific junior Jessica Pixler led from start to finish and smashed the course record Saturday to win the Triton Cross Country Classic on the 6,000-meter course at UC-San Diego.
Pixler finished in 21 minutes, 12.3 seconds. That put her well ahead of the previous record of 21:50.4, set last year by Zsofia Erdelyi of USC.

More cross country
WWU won both the men's and women's titles Saturday in the 35th annual Western Washington Invitational Meet at Lake Padden Park in Bellingham.
The Viking men, ranked No. 14 nationally, put nine runners in the top 14. The women won behind sophomore Sarah Porter, who was an individual champion for the fourth consecutive time.
Porter covered the 6-kilometer women's course in 21:24, a full 56 seconds ahead of junior teammate Courtney Olsen. Marie Mullen of CWU was third (22:38). SPU freshman Natty Plunkett finished fourth. The Vikings won the women's team title with 25 points, 14 ahead of second-place SPU at 39. Central was third with 73.
The Western men finished with 15 points; runner-up SPU had 68. John Riak of Saint Martin's won the race in 31:44, edging Western's Jordan Welling.
• Brian Cronrath, a Seattle Pacific senior, finished 10th, and junior Chad Meis finished 14th in the Triton Cross Country Classic in San Diego. Cronrath finished the 10,000-meter course in 32 minutes, 55.1 seconds, and Meis came across in 33:25.0.
More volleyball
Seattle U. freshmen Kaytlyn Dill and Cristin Richards combined for 31 kills as the Redhawks defeated the University of North Dakota, 3-1, in the fourth match of the Dig For The Cure Classic Saturday at the Connolly Center. In the other late match, South Dakota defeated North Dakota, 3-2. Earlier, the Redhawks beat South Dakota, 3-2.
• No. 3 WWU (13-2, 5-1 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, falling to Alaska Fairbanks, 3-2, in Fairbanks.
Soccer
Meredith Teague scored two goals as 11th-ranked SPU (11-1-1, 5-1 GNAC) beat Saint Martin's 4-1in a women's soccer game Saturday in Seattle.
• Junior forward Lucy Miller had three goals and an assist as WWU (10-2, 6-0 GNAC) won its seventh straight game, defeating Northwest Nazarene 5-0 in women's soccer in Nampa, Idaho.
• Senior forward Samir Vejo scored all four goals, lifting WWU (6-5-2, 2-1 GNAC) to a 4-2 win over Northwest Nazarene (8-3-2, 1-3-1) in men's soccer.
Swimming
Alexis Morehouse won the 100-yard breaststroke and Doug Djang finished second in two events for Seattle U. at the PCSC Pentathlon and Diving Invitational in Riverside, Calif.
