ESPN anchor Cohn set for a Seattle book-signing

ESPN anchor Linda Cohn will be in Seattle on Monday signing copies of her autobiography "Cohn-Head: A No-Holds-Barred Account of Breaking Into the Boy's Club."

Seattle Times staff reporter

ESPN anchor Linda Cohn will be in Seattle on Monday signing copies of her autobiography "Cohn-Head: A No-Holds-Barred Account of Breaking Into the Boy's Club."

Cohn, a Long Island native and avid NHL fan, writes that she used sports to weave through a troubled childhood and break out of her shyness. But being a female sportscaster wasn't easy.

Turning down one early offer to join ESPN's crew, Cohn broke out in the business in Seattle, landing her first anchor position at KIRO-TV. After three years, she received another call from ESPN and has worked for the sports conglomerate the past 16 years, doing everything from calling WNBA games in 2006 to hosting "SportsCenter."

Cohn will be at Elliott Bay Book Co. beginning at 7 p.m.
