CAPTURED SAILOR stumbled badly at the start of his most recent race but still rallied to beat six. INDIA PALE simply fell apart in last after setting some soft fractions. He did run much better two races ago, and now the apprentice will ride for the first time. JAZZ Z LEDO tries two turns for the first time and must be respected as he'll be ridden by Kevin Radke and is trained by Tim McCanna.

LA PATRIOTTE has been on a long losing streak (14) but does get a key jock switch. The 7-year-old mare beat $17,500 runners at the 1-1/16 mile distance back in 2006. LAST PRINCESS made her debut around two turns a winning one — drawing away to a 2-length score at 8-1. CALL ME EMILY seems to either give it her all or run up the track and finish last.

SLEWDLEVIEW has been out twice, so he has a big experience on most. Trainer Bud Klokstad has 106 wins with 2-year-olds at EmD, and his 22 percent lifetime winning percentage is the best at the track. WORKBENCH is one of many debut runners to run the 5-furlong distance. Trainer Tom Wenzel entered this year 9 for 56 (16 percent) with 2-year-old debut runners with 45 percent finishing at least third. NATIVE DYNASTY makes his debut for trainer Kathy Schenk, who has done well with limited 2-year-old starters.

HIGH FREQUENCY has won three of his five starts and is being dangled for $3,500. He'll be favored for the sixth straight time for trainer Roy Lumm (31 wins, just two away from tying his best Emerald season). HUMOROUS GUY has two wins at the meet and is presently in good form. WAR POPPY had nearly three months off and now draws the fence for his return to the races. The 6-year-old is 3 for 19 at today's distance with three seconds.

MOMENTS IN MAY hasn't got much respect at the betting windows of late paying 7-1 in a victory and finishing second at 11-1. MISMANTLE drops again on the class ladder after showing brief speed. She did wake up one time last year and post a big front-running score. SKIMMED hasn't missed the superfecta all meet (seven starts) for trainer Nick Lowe, who is having his best summer at Emerald Downs with seven victories.

Scratch — The Liver is Evil, Bold Act
CASCADIAN CURRENCY has the ability to pass rivals and that should come in handy against this group. DELEGOCHO returned off a lengthy layoff to score at 8-1. He gets a new pilot tonight, but the gelding tries hard each time he leaves the gate. HECK YA cruised to the lead for the first time in his most recent start and kept on going to notch a front-running score in a quick time.

AFLEET PETE has won on the lead and from off the pace but not for current trainer Tim McCanna (doled out $17,500 for the 4-year-old back in June). PREMIER DIABLO brings a 2-for-22 record to feature race but has piled up 14 other trifecta finishes. PLATINUM KATILLAC has been competitive sprinting at the meet, and a ground-saving trip gets him into the exotics.
