Tonight's entries

First race: 6 p.m.

1 1-1/16 miles, purse $6,000, 3-year-olds and up, maiden claiming $5,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
1 Captured Sailor J Torres 4 124
7 India Pale M Wrnr-Hagerty 6 117
8 Jazz Z Ledo K Radke 6 118
2 Moola Makor J Gutierrez 2 118
3 Commanding Spirit G Mitchell 12 118
4 Hail Mister True R Frazier 7/2 118
5 Deputy Aaron S Martinez 15 118
6 Santorini Island C Doll 15 118

CAPTURED SAILOR stumbled badly at the start of his most recent race but still rallied to beat six. INDIA PALE simply fell apart in last after setting some soft fractions. He did run much better two races ago, and now the apprentice will ride for the first time. JAZZ Z LEDO tries two turns for the first time and must be respected as he'll be ridden by Kevin Radke and is trained by Tim McCanna.

2 1-1/16 miles, purse $6,300, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
6 La Patriotte K Radke 4 119

3 Crystal'n Diamonds L Mawing 5 117
4 Yoodalush A Gutierrez 15 123
5 Ms Claudia J Estrada 12 123

LA PATRIOTTE has been on a long losing streak (14) but does get a key jock switch. The 7-year-old mare beat $17,500 runners at the 1-1/16 mile distance back in 2006. LAST PRINCESS made her debut around two turns a winning one — drawing away to a 2-length score at 8-1. CALL ME EMILY seems to either give it her all or run up the track and finish last.

3 5 furlongs, purse $9,000, 2-year-old, maiden claiming $12,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
8 Slewdleview R Frazier 9/5 118
4 Workbench J Gutierrez 4 118

3 Impulsive Again D Hnan-Trujillo 8 118

6 Here Comes Lucky J Torres 10 118
7 Sneaky Snitch C Jones 20 118
9 Admire James G Baze 15 118

Scratch — Mucha Moola

SLEWDLEVIEW has been out twice, so he has a big experience on most. Trainer Bud Klokstad has 106 wins with 2-year-olds at EmD, and his 22 percent lifetime winning percentage is the best at the track. WORKBENCH is one of many debut runners to run the 5-furlong distance. Trainer Tom Wenzel entered this year 9 for 56 (16 percent) with 2-year-old debut runners with 45 percent finishing at least third. NATIVE DYNASTY makes his debut for trainer Kathy Schenk, who has done well with limited 2-year-old starters.

4 5 ½ furlongs, purse $6,200, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $3,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
6 High Frequency S Martinez 5/2 124
8 Humorous Guy L Mawing 5 124

9 Sunny Wager G Baze 20 122
10 Make a Plan C Jones 20 120
11 Fibbin's Easy D Hnan-Trujillo 8 120

HIGH FREQUENCY has won three of his five starts and is being dangled for $3,500. He'll be favored for the sixth straight time for trainer Roy Lumm (31 wins, just two away from tying his best Emerald season). HUMOROUS GUY has two wins at the meet and is presently in good form. WAR POPPY had nearly three months off and now draws the fence for his return to the races. The 6-year-old is 3 for 19 at today's distance with three seconds.

5 5 ½ furlongs, purse $6,100, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $4,000
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
3 Moments in May G Mitchell 9/2 117
1 Mismantle D Hnan-Trujillo 6 121
8 Skimmed S Martinez 4 123
2 Marlinda K Radke 6 117
4 Mighty Fine Wine W Dieguez 12 113
5 Cahill Rose M Wrnr-Hagerty 10 112
6 She's Rio Fast C Jones 20 117
7 Ruby Begonia L Mawing 20 117
9 Classic Rox J Gutierrez 7/2 113
10 Forty Colors J Torres 6 119

MOMENTS IN MAY hasn't got much respect at the betting windows of late paying 7-1 in a victory and finishing second at 11-1. MISMANTLE drops again on the class ladder after showing brief speed. She did wake up one time last year and post a big front-running score. SKIMMED hasn't missed the superfecta all meet (seven starts) for trainer Nick Lowe, who is having his best summer at Emerald Downs with seven victories.

6 6 furlongs, purse $10,000, 3-year-old, claiming $12,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
12 Cascadian Currency M Wrnr-Hagerty 3 115

9 Mr. February T Cunningham 15 122
10 Bluffed Ya G Mitchell 10 122
11 Ahill Slew R Frazier 12 118

Scratch — The Liver is Evil, Bold Act

CASCADIAN CURRENCY has the ability to pass rivals and that should come in handy against this group. DELEGOCHO returned off a lengthy layoff to score at 8-1. He gets a new pilot tonight, but the gelding tries hard each time he leaves the gate. HECK YA cruised to the lead for the first time in his most recent start and kept on going to notch a front-running score in a quick time.

7 6 ½ furlongs, purse $12,000, 3-year-olds and up, claiming $17,500
PP Horse Jockey Line Wt.
4 Afleet Pete R Frazier 9/5 124
6 Premier Diablo K Radke 5/2 120

3 Kattegatt Kid G Baze 10 118
5 D Devil S Martinez 3 120
7 Grafton Square J Gutierrez 12 120
8 Forestry's Cat G Mitchell 15 120

Scratch — Slew's Destiny

AFLEET PETE has won on the lead and from off the pace but not for current trainer Tim McCanna (doled out $17,500 for the 4-year-old back in June). PREMIER DIABLO brings a 2-for-22 record to feature race but has piled up 14 other trifecta finishes. PLATINUM KATILLAC has been competitive sprinting at the meet, and a ground-saving trip gets him into the exotics.

8 6 ½ furlongs, purse $6,200, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $3,500

12 Hold the Game D Hnan-Trujillo 7/2 119

4 Popsicle Gal G Mitchell 5 121
7 Runaway Winner S Martinez 3 119

9 Wild But Free T Cunningham 20 121
10 Lovely Laura S Whiteside 20 119
11 Liberty Way G Baze 20 119

HOLD THE GAME was likely best in last, but she ran into tight quarters turning for home and had to check. BASKET WAVE tired in last after displaying decent speed when facing similar. J.C. Estrada was aboard for her last two wins here at EmD. MY EMY MY AMY doesn't win that often but does on occasion rally late to pick up a minor share of the purse.
