Northwest |

The Boeing Classic has lost one of its headliners, with Bernhard Langer withdrawing because of what was described as a "family health issue."

Langer, who leads Champions Tour money list ($1.65 million), was one of three withdrawals Monday. Portland native Peter Jacobsen, who has been dogged by injuries, and Jim Colbert also pulled out.

First alternate Don Bies of Seattle replaces Langer, who won the Masters in 1985 and 1993. Jimmy Powell and Danny Edwards also join the field.

The $1.7 million, three-day tournament begins Friday at the TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge.

Langer's withdrawal leaves the tourney with 12 players who've won PGA Tour majors.
