In the men's event in Eagle, Idaho, Erik Flores of Grass Valley, Calif., beat first-round leader Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., in a playoff for medalist honors.

Notes
• Twelve football players from Washington will travel to New Orleans this week to compete in the National Football League High School Player Development 7-On-7 National Tournament Championships at the practice facility of the New Orleans Saints.
The Washington team, which will represent the Seattle Seahawks, will be coached by Mat Taylor and Chad Barrett from Skyline of Sammamish, last year's Class 3A champion. Five Skyline players are on the roster, including last year's KingCo 3A offensive player of the year, Gino Simone, and the first-team all-3A quarterback, Jake Heaps.
The roster also includes three players from Kennedy and one from Issaquah, along with Prosser wide receiver Kirby Moore — who has an offer from Washington State — and Ferndale quarterback Casey Locker, cousin of Washington starter Jake Locker.
• Bellevue High will host its second lift-a-thon Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the school's weight room. The proceeds will go to build a teen workout room at Gilda's Club Seattle, which helps people living with cancer.
• Curtis High School has hired Jackie Thomas to lead the girls' basketball program. Thomas is a 2004 graduate of Curtis.
