COURAGEOUS CAPTAIN circled a bunch of rivals to nab second sprinting three weeks ago. His only win came in his only start at the mile distance. BANKERS YEAR, a loser of 11 straight, always seems to get close but doesn't know how to beat an entire group. SEAMS FUNNY gets the leading rider for his first trip around two turns.

TRITIUM is still a maiden after two brutal trips where he could have run much better with a clean trip. KID HUEY, who is making her career debut, is out of Panchita, who won four races here with blazing speed. SPOKALU returned off a lengthy layoff to vie for the lead for nearly 4 furlongs. He backed up in the stretch to finish third.

NINA WIN is going great guns, and the hike in selling price just makes her a better price. YOUR HIGHNESS LEIA was all out to win her last start, and now she's won seven of her past eight after winning one for her first 16 starts. BOMBAY BEAU led past every pole to win her last start as the 7-5 favorite.

ROGUE RACER has been running like he wants more ground, and he'll get it today. HOPING FOR GOLD is the only runner of the group to try 8 furlongs, albeit it was on grass. WAY TOO MUCH ran fast for 4 furlongs in his debut before tiring in the lane. Trainer Tim McCanna was 5 for 25 (20 percent) in MSW races the past five years for runners aged 3 and up.

BIDDYNTHECHIEF rolls into town after winning three of seven starts in Northern California. Kevin Radke rides, and look for him sailing to the lead. SAN CLEMENTE BLUE, a winner of three of her past six starts, shows up for trainer Mike Chambers. OUR LIL' ELFIE put in a winning effort in last, but it seemed like she ran the Belmont distance of 1-½ miles as she raced extremely wide on both turns. And look what post she drew today — none other than the 10 hole.

EMANICIPATED will try to run his streak to seven straight in-the-money finishes. AUBURN XPRESS escaped the maiden ranks with an easy score three weeks ago.

SOPHIE'S CHOICE with an excellent ride by Seth Martinez pulled off a game score in last, winning for the first time in quite some time. She's back in nine days and does have some experience around two turns. BAKER GIRL gets the leading rider and is right back in a week. She should sit three to four lengths behind the leader and try to make up ground in the stretch turn. SMOKIE RIVER received a dream trip sprinting in her most recent start to finish second. Trainer Diane Garrison is 5 for 44 (11 percent) lifetime in EmD route races.

SUN CITY missed the start by two to three lengths but quickly made it into contention. She had a chance to win but was bumped badly in the late stages. SUISSE MOVEMENT has put in three solid works over the local oval. This is her first start here, and jockey Seth Martinez has won five of his first 11 rides for trainer Mike Chambers. AMANDA LYNN was moved up to first after a DQ in her last start. The 7-year-old mare has now won seven races from 32 EmD starts.

HELLBENDER beat eight in his 2008 debut to finish second for the third time in six career starts. DANTE'S GULCH had no apparent excuse for finishing fourth as the 2-1 favorite a dozen days ago. This gelding has burned bundles of hard-earned money in his nine-race career. LARRYTHESTABLEGUY gets a better post, and new rider Kevin Radke has been on a roll of late.
