Will Ferrell: The comedian gave Michigan State basketball fans — and coach Tom Izzo — a chance to laugh after the 11th-ranked Spartans lost to Penn State over the weekend.
Ferrell "interviewed" Izzo on Tuesday night at the Breslin Center before a mostly student crowd of about 9,000 as his fictional title character from "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy." It was part of "Will Ferrell's Funny or Die College Comedy Tour."
Ferrell as Burgundy asked Izzo if he was a "legal dwarf" and shared stories of their time together in the National Guard, a report in the State News said. Izzo held his hand over his mouth to keep from laughing, particularly when Ferrell/Burgundy recalled the pair invading Canada and shooting a moose.
Ferrell's tour is promoting his basketball-themed comedy "Semi-Pro," which opens at the end of the month. Ferrell plays the owner of a struggling Flint, Mich., minor-league team.
Eli Manning: The Giants QB, a guest on Wednesday's "Late Show" on CBS, tossed out his own theory as to why Patriots coach Bill Belichick left the field with one play left in the Super Bowl.
"Trying to beat traffic, I guess," he told David Letterman.
