SHESIGNEDTHEPAPERS hasn't hit the board in her five starts at the meet but drops to an all-time low in class. She should be a good price in the opener. PERFECTLATINORPHAN won her 4-year-old debut with ease back in April but hasn't been back to the winner's circle. STITCHY drops a notch in class after disappointing her backers at 5-2.

FIELDS OF GREEN ships in from Northern California, where he was facing better. BLACKJACK KETCHUM opened up a clear lead (3 lengths) in last only to watch three rivals roll pass in the final 100 yards. SCREAMING EAGLE is in for a $12,500 tag after finishing fourth as the 5-2 favorite in a race for $30,000 claimers.

5 Critic N Chaves 9/2 122
TEMPLATE has one victory vs. seven seconds in his career and just maybe he can improve on that and pick up win No. 2. FOR THE PRIZE bit off a bit too much in his most recent start after a convincing victory. CANDLESTICK PARK has been facing better foes all meet and should be competitive with this group.

3 Proud Cajun M Rodriguez 4 118

8 Rag Top L Mawing 6 118
SMOOTH COPY couldn't keep up with an impressive maiden breaker in last. Looks like a big wire-to-wire threat today with Kevin Radke back riding horses again. SO WHATABOUT is trained by Jim Penney, who has had 50 percent of his 2-year-old runners finish in the money the past five years. MICHAEL'S ROCKER finished in the top three in his second career start. It seems like trainer Doris Harwood starts at least one in every 2-year-old race.

10 Miss Brookie W Dieguez 4 121
LORD'S HEIR, who was claimed for $12,500, has run some solid races at the meet but she's still facing maiden. PEQUENA LISETTE scraped paint in her debut to end up a tiring fifth. She returned to work well, so look for a big effort. STORMBURN ($45K yearling purchase) has been working fast in the a.m. for her first start of the year.

ASHBY HILL is making his first start since November 2005, but every time he goes racing, he puts in a big effort. ZACKARY'S VERBATIM has two seconds in two starts at the meet. The 6-year-old gelding will be ridden by the leading rider for the first time. WEST SEATTLE BOY, a nine-time winner at Emerald Downs, is in for $10K after facing better most of his career.

9 Slowwaterrunsdeep N Chaves 10 124
CHALK FREE is in at the basement level after just running nine days ago. He had a terrific 4-year-old season but hasn't done much this year. SNORT'S SPORT likes to run on the lead and could be there a long time against this group. CAPTAIN CORN has been on the shelf the past two months after finishing second in three consecutive starts.

8 Retreat After Me S Gann 6 117
WELKEN finished a decent fourth in her comebacker when facing allowance types. She's bred to like the longer distance and was highly respected last year. If Shampoo moves too fast, Welken could be up late to get the money. SHAMPOO is shooting for her fourth consecutive stakes win and no horse at Emerald Downs has ever won the first four in his/her division. The 3-year-old filly should go off around 4-5 and figures to be no worse than second. FIRETRAIL led for 6 furlongs in a driving rainstorm to finish a good third in the Irish Day Handicap four weeks ago. She should show improvement but today's race is 110 yards longer.
9 1 mile, purse $12,600, 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, claiming $15,000/$12,500

5 Bemuse S Gann 4 116
6 Musical Wine R Frazier 5 119
BERRY VIVA likes to win races and leads the group with four wins at today's distance. SENDIPITY would like a muddy track as she's been first or second in four of six starts over a wet track. SPLASHOF PANACHE, who has decent early speed, hasn't won since July of last year.

ZONA DE IMPACTO had the past month off but did put in a good workout. It's time for the 8-year-old to pick up a win in the states. FORMYPAPA drops in class after a couple of dull performances. THISCATSKRAFTY hasn't won in quite some time but has been involved in the superfecta in each of his past 10 starts.
