Prime time, NBC (delayed, 8 p.m. to midnight) or CBUT (live, 3 to 9 a.m.)

• In gymnastics, the women's balance beam final should be a showcase for America's top two gymnasts: Nastia Liukin, and Shawn Johnson. Also, finals in men's parallel bars and high bar.

• In track and field, Sanya Richards is one half of what could be the world's fastest couple — her fiance is cornerback Aaron Ross of the Super Bowl champion New York Giants. Richards, the 2005 world silver medalist in the women's 400, should contend for gold in her best event. Also, Lolo Jones is a gold-medal contender in the women's 100 hurdles.

• The world's dominant diving power will have two of its stars on display in men's 3-meter springboard, with China's Qin Kai (the 2007 world champion) and He Chong (the 2008 world champion).

• For the first time, BMX is an Olympic event. Team USA is strong in BMX as the men open with No. 1 Donnie Robinson, three-time world champion Kyle Bennett and two-time world medalist Mike Day.

Daytime, NBC (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

• U.S. women's volleyball continues to dominate and is in the quarterfinal match against Italy, who they've upset once before this Olympics.

• Men's soccer is on MSNBC with Nigeria vs. Belgium and Argentina vs. Brazil in the semifinals.

Broadcasters won't reveal exact time for events, only windows. NBC's coverage is delayed in the West, even though the "LIVE" logo is on the screen.
