Tickets to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics will go on sale next October, organizers said Thursday.
Approximately 1.6 million tickets will be available, with 100,000 tickets priced at $25. Tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies, ranging from $175 to $1,100, are less expensive than at the Torino 2006 Games and the Salt Lake 2002 Games.
U.S. citizens can purchase tickets through Jet Set Sports and CoSport — http://www.cosport.com.
Tickets will be made available in phases, with lotteries for the most-requested events.
In addition, the Vancouver Organizing Committee will create an online exchange program designed to allow spectators with tickets who cannot attend to resell their tickets.
The 2010 Games will be in Vancouver and Whistler from Feb. 12-28, 2010. For e-mail updates, sign up at vancouver2010.com.
