A panoramic view of the 2010 Olympics
Posted by Tiffany Campbell
Seattle Times photographer Steve Ringman has been posted in Whistler, B.C. for the duration of the 2010 Winter Olympics. He's been having fun with his iphone, using an app called Pano to create a panaromic look at the Olympics. Here are his favorites:
The Square at Whistler is traffic jam in the afternoon with skiers, snowboarders, olympic ticketholders and press. Large screen TV's blare out the latest Olympic news and the stage has live music at night.
View of the Cross-Country stadium at Whistler's Olympic Park.
This view shows the steep walkway that photographers climb to get images of jumpers as they fly by. There are two hills: the Large Hill at left and the Normal Hill at right. The sound the jumpers make is a gathering whoosshhhhhh as they glide by.

Whistler Medals Plaza is just outside the spot where Bode Miller officially received his gold medal. Many come just to take a photo with the Olympic rings.
This view, looking up at the Dave Murray downhill run, is the position at the base of the run where the skiers pass the finish line.
Photographers stand on a riser overlooking the biathalon stadium at the Olympic Park as the last two competitors arrive at the finish.
