Cash for clunkers
Posted by Letters editor
Buy a beater, trade it in for new wheels
I wish I were a car dealer once the "cash for clunkers" incentive rebate goes through ["No 'cash for clunkers,' " editorial, June 15]. I would tell every customer to go out and buy a $400 clunker to trade in rather than their normal vehicle.
They get thousands for the price of an old 'beater' car, and they also get to keep their normal gas guzzler to service at the dealership.
Everyone wins but the taxpayer!
