Sacramento Kings rally from 35 points down to win in Chicago
Rookie guard Tyreke Evans and the Sacramento Kings pulled off an incredible comeback.
CHICAGO — Rookie guard Tyreke Evans and the Sacramento Kings pulled off an incredible comeback, rallying from 35 points down in the second half to stun the Chicago Bulls 102-98 Monday night.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was the biggest comeback in a league game since Utah overcame a 36-point second-quarter deficit to beat Denver 107-103 on Nov. 27, 1996.
The Bulls led 79-44 with 8:50 left in the third quarter and were ahead 83-50 two minutes later before they collapsed.
"I'm not even sure I believe it, but it sure was fun," said Sacramento coach Paul Westphal, a former Sonics player and coach.
Evans personally outscored Chicago 9-3 over the final 2:13 and finished with 23 points for the Kings.
"Wow! All I can say is, 'Wow!' " Evans said.
After the Kings finished the third quarter with a 19-5 run to make the score 88-69, Ime Udoka scored 15 of the Kings' next 22 points in 9:32 to cut Chicago's lead to 95-91.
That is when Evans, who played college ball at Memphis, took over.
Luol Deng scored 26 points for the Bulls, who were booed off the court.
"We're not good enough to take a minute off, never mind a half," Chicago coach Vinny Del Negro said.

PHOENIX — LeBron James and Mo Williams led a 15-0 fourth-quarter run and Cleveland handed the Phoenix Suns their first home loss of the season, 109-91.
James scored 29 points and Williams had 24 as the Cavaliers shot 53 percent one night after a tough loss in Dallas.
Steve Nash had 18 points and 10 assists for Phoenix.
The Suns, the league's lone unbeaten team at home at 10-0 entering the game, had won 19 in a row there overall.
Center Shaquille O'Neal didn't get much of a reaction from the fans in his first game in Phoenix since the Suns traded him to Cleveland. In foul trouble much of the night, O'Neal had three points and five rebounds in 19 minutes.
