CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Portland forward Travis Outlaw fractured his left foot during the first quarter of the Trail Blazers' game against Charlotte on Saturday night.
Brandon Roy scored 25 points as Portland beat the Bobcats 80-74 to extend its winning streak to six games.
Outlaw entered the game third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.9 points.
Team officials said he would return to Portland for further evaluation and estimated he could miss from six to eight weeks.
The Blazers (8-3) used a huge run that included parts of the second and third quarters to send the Bobcats (3-6) to their fourth consecutive loss.
Charlotte led 28-20 with six minutes left in the second quarter but missed eight shots in a row as Portland closed the half on an 18-2 run.
The Blazers extended the lead to 51-35 before Bobcats forward Boris Diaw connected on five consecutive shots and scored 11 of his team-high 21 points in a 13-2 Charlotte run, closing the gap to 55-51 after three quarters.
Tempers flared late in the game and players needed to be separated after Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge and Charlotte's Raja Bell got tangled up. Bobcats players Gerald Wallace and Tyson Chandler, along with ex-Washington Huskies standout Roy, were involved in the skirmish until being separated by referees.
"He just [el]'bowed me on purpose," Aldridge said of Bell. "He knew I was right there. He looked at me and he 'bowed me.
"I think that's probably the maddest I've been."
Notes
• Joe Johnson scored 26 points and Jamal Crawford — a graduate of Rainier Beach High School in Seattle — added 21 to help host Atlanta beat the New Orleans Hornets 121-98 for their fourth consecutive victory.

The Hornets were without All-Star guard Chris Paul, who stayed home after spraining his ankle in a game the night before, and have lost three in a row and five of six.
• Dwyane Wade made a three-pointer with 0.1 seconds left to give host Miami an 81-80 victory over the New Jersey Nets.
Wade scored 22 points and surpassed his franchise record by scoring at least 20 for the 22nd consecutive game.
• Rookie Brandon Jennings scored 55 points, including 29 in the third quarter, to lead Milwaukee to a 129-125 victory over visiting Golden State. The Bucks (5-2) are off to their best start since 2005.
• The Memphis Grizzlies signed point guard Jamaal Tinsley, adding a player with a checkered past.
Tinsley, 31, was bought out by the Indiana Pacers in July but has not played in the league since the middle of the 2007-08 season. He was under contract with the Pacers, but told to stay away from the team last season. Tinsley's signing comes as the Grizzlies are in limbo regarding the length of Allen Iverson's absence.
Iverson, a former league most valuable player who signed with the team in September, is away for an indefinite length of time to deal with personal matters.
Tinsley has been in trouble during his career. There was a barroom scrap, and he was the target of a drive-by shooting before the Pacers cut ties.
