Streaking Celtics win 5th straight
Ray Allen scored 21 points and the Boston Celtics led from the start in winning their fifth straight game, 118-103 over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
TORONTO — Ray Allen scored 21 points and the Boston Celtics led from the start in winning their fifth straight game, 118-103 over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo and Tony Allen each scored 15 points for the Celtics, who have won 11 of 12 since a Nov. 1 loss to Indiana.
Kendrick Perkins had 12 points and Paul Pierce and Eddie House each scored 11 in helping Boston score a season high. Boston's previous best was 110 points in a Nov. 18 victory over New York.
Chris Bosh led Toronto with 24 points, while Jose Calderon had 14 points and nine assists. Andrea Bargnani and Anthony Parker had 14 apiece for the Raptors, who are 2-4 at home.
Boston wasted little time in building a 10-0 lead, forcing Toronto to call time out at 8:37 of the first after missing its first five field goal attempts.
Toronto forward Jermaine O'Neal left the game in the second quarter after falling following a missed jump shot. O'Neal started despite straining his surgically repaired left knee in the fourth quarter of Friday's overtime loss to New Jersey.
Wincing visibly every time he jumped and landed, O'Neal was slow to get up after falling on a missed jumper at 7:36 of the second. He left the game one possession later and did not return.
Boston led 32-20 after the first and pulled away in the second. Tony Allen came off the bench to score 12 points, pushing the lead to 18 at one point. The lone bright spot for Toronto was Calderon's alley-oop to Jamario Moon with just over a minute to play in the half.
The Celtics led 59-49 at the break, their highest-scoring first half of the season.
Antonio McDyess returning to the Pistons
DETROIT — Antonio McDyess is coming back to play for the Detroit Pistons.
"After long deliberation Antonio has decided that he will return to the Pistons," Andy Miller, McDyess' agent, informed The Associated Press via text message Sunday night.

Detroit dealt McDyess, Chauncey Billups and project Cheikh Samb to Denver for Allen Iverson on Nov. 3. The cost-cutting Nuggets waived McDyess a week later and he has to wait until 30 days have passed since the trade to rejoin the Pistons.
The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged seven points and four rebounds in two games as a key reserve for Detroit before the trade and has averaged 13.4 points and 7.7 rebounds since he was drafted No. 2 overall in 1995.
Notes
• Warriors guard and former Rainier Beach star Jamal Crawford, who was acquired from the New York Knicks on Friday for F Al Harrington, was not with the team in Philadelphia. Crawford is scheduled to take his physical today and then join the Warriors for Tuesday's game at Washington.
• Calderon made all eight of his free throws Sunday night against the Celtics and is 40 for 40 from the line this season.
• Phil Jackson's Lakers are 11-1 to start the season. His best start as an NBA coach with only one loss was in 1996-97 when the Chicago Bulls came out of the gate 17-1 and won the second of three straight NBA titles. The previous season, the Bulls finished 72-10.
