PHILADELPHIA — Their body language during the 34-point blowout said more than the Sonics who showered and dressed in silence inside the visiting locker room at the Wachovia Center.

"I can't say this is the lowest point of the season because I don't know what tomorrow is going to bring," Damien Wilkins said following a 117-83 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. "You can't have an effort like that. I think coach said it all after the game. That's just an effort that's unacceptable."

The Sonics looked physically and mentally whipped for long stretches. The players on the bench appeared disinterested in the game. They stared into the crowd and provided little encouragement.

"It's a season of inconsistencies," Wilkins said. "One game we play well and play hard, and other games we just come out. We just show up, and we don't do anything else. We put on our uniforms, go out on the floor and do nothing."

Coach P.J. Carlesimo noted the Sonics played their fourth game in six days on Friday, but he said the team "can't use that as an excuse." He canceled Thursday's practice in hopes of reviving a tired team.

Olympia rally

Save Our Sonics is holding rally in Olympia at 10 a.m. today in the courtyard between the Legislative Building and the Capitol Dome. The event is intended to show support for the legislation to fund a KeyArena renovation package.

Notes

• Before Friday's 117-83 defeat, Carlesimo dismissed Wednesday's verbal sideline spat with forward Donyell Marshall as "nothing." Marshall didn't enter Friday's game until 7:15 remained and the Sonics trailed by 26 points. He finished with three points and three rebounds.

• G Mike Wilks, who signed a 10-day contract Feb. 29, made his season debut with the Sonics. He had two points and one assist in 7:15 of playing time.
