Notes: Chicago's Allen OK after scary fall

Chicago Bulls forward Malik Allen is listed as day to day after spraining his neck against Minnesota and being carted off the court on Tuesday night.

Guard Chris Duhon is also day to day with a bruised jaw after taking a shot to the face during Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves. Chicago hosts Cleveland tonight.

Allen was injured 20 seconds into the second quarter, rotating to defend Rashad McCants on a drive. As he fell backward, Allen's head banged into teammate Darius Songaila's shin.

Allen's neck was immobilized, and as he left the court he moved his arms and raised a fist. He was taken to Rush University Medical Center, where he underwent a CT scan, MRI and neurological exam before being released.

In other Bulls news, Tim Thomas was waived, clearing the way for the forward to possibly sign with a playoff contender.

Notes

• The Phoenix Suns waived well-traveled swingman Jim Jackson. Last season, Jackson averaged 8.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 24.9 minutes a game. The Suns also signed guard Andre Barrett to a 10-day contract.

• The Houston Rockets waived guard Jon Barry, who has struggled with injuries this season.

• The Denver Nuggets waived Charles Smith, one of three players acquired in a four-team, nine-player trade last week.

• The Detroit Pistons signed free-agent guard Tony Delk in an effort to replace Carlos Arroyo, who recently was traded to the Orlando Magic.

• Washington's Gilbert Arenas, Wizards teammate Antawn Jamison and Toronto's Chris Bosh all said that they expect to get invitations to try out for the U.S. basketball team that will compete in this summer's world championships.
