Sonics By Percy Allen
Oregon's Luke Jackson highlighted a list of 12 NBA draft prospects who worked out for the Sonics this week. Others included Russian forward Viktor Khryapa and Brazillian forward Anderson Varejao. The most intriguing matchup of the week may have been a pairing of Russian center Pavel Podkolzine, who is believed to be the top center in the draft, and Peter John Ramos, a 7-foot-3 19-year-old who played in Puerto Rico. The other prospects: Auburn's Kyle Davis; Colorado's Michael Morandais; Iowa's Jared Reiner; Southeastern Illinois' Danta Smith; Spain's Tiago Splitter; and Miguel Marriaga of Venezuela. Predrag Samardziski, a 7-foot center from Serbia & Montenegro, worked out for the Sonics before withdrawing from the draft. The draft is Thursday.
