NACHES, Wash. — Three people who died in a crash west of Naches have been identified as brothers from Yakima.
Seven others were injured in the crash Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 12 between Naches and Rimrock Lake.
According to the Washington State Patrol, 21-year-old Roman Abundiz swung his family's Jeep Wrangler into oncoming traffic. The Jeep collided with a Ford Expedition towing a boat.
Abundiz and two younger brothers, 15-year-old Raul and 11-year-old Fernando, died in the crash. Three others in the Jeep, 43-tear-old Rosa P. Abundiz, 22-year-old Yesenia Verduzco Sanchez and 21-year-old and Rogelio Benavidez Ramirez, were taken to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
Also taken to area hospitals were four of the six people in the Ford, all from Kennewick, including the driver, 32-year-old Daniel E. Leach.
