911 tape of SoCal toy store shooting released

A 911 recording reveals the sounds of shoppers screaming during a shootout between two men at a toy store in Southern California.

PALM DESERT, Calif. —

A 911 recording reveals the sounds of shoppers screaming during a shootout between two men at a toy store in Southern California.

The tape was released by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press.

The unidentified caller at one point begs: "Please hurry. There's all kinds of kids here in the store."

Thirty-nine-year-old Alejandro Moreno and 28-year-old Juan Meza shot each other to death on Friday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

Investigators say they had a previous dispute. No one else was hurt.
