The mother of a Michigan teenager who fatally poisoned her grandmother with morphine is charged in the unrelated slaying of a Kentucky man.
The mother of a Michigan teenager who fatally poisoned her grandmother with morphine is charged in the unrelated slaying of a Kentucky man.
Thirty-three-year-old Tina Adkins was charged this week with complicity to murder Gregory Allen Shepherd. Authorities say Adkins helped lead police to the 38-year-old's body Tuesday in eastern Kentucky.
Shepherd was described as Adkins' boyfriend, but no motive has been determined. No defense attorney is on record for Tina Adkins.
She is the mother of 16-year-old Kristina Adkins, who pleaded guilty to slipping 53-year-old Virginia Bentley morphine in 2006.
Kristina Adkins was given life in prison with possible parole. Her lawyer says Bentley, who is not Tina Adkins' mother, mistreated her.
