A 21-year-old Pacific man was shot and killed Friday night at a youth event at a community center next to Pacific City Hall.
Pacific police officers said they don't know why a man fired shots through a closed window toward the victim, his friends and relatives.
Three men were arrested at a nearby house later Friday night and booked into the King County Jail this morning on suspicion of first-degree murder, police reported.
Mayor Rich Hildreth identified the victim as Shiloh Drott, who grew up in Pacific.
Dozens of friends, relatives and their supporters set up a memorial for Drott in front of City Hall and were continuing to hold vigil there this afternoon, Hildreth said.
"He was very well-respected, well-loved," Hildreth said. "The entire town is devastated. There are probably 50 to 100 people standing outside now with a makeshift memorial."
Chaplains were at the scene and will be there again Sunday to help people work through their trauma and grief, Hildreth said.
