SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

The death toll has risen to nine in the crash of a charter bus that was on its way to a casino in Northern California.

UC Davis Medical Center spokeswoman Phyllis Brown says E. Vang Saelee (SAY'-lee) died Friday at the Sacramento hospital. The victim's son says he was 74.

The crash earlier killed Saelee's wife.

Eight other people died after the bus overturned Sunday with 45 people aboard. The driver remains hospitalized and is under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
