Nighttime lane closures next week on I-90 at Mercer Island
More Interstate 90 lane closures on Mercer Island are scheduled at night next week.
MERCER ISLAND — More Interstate 90 lane closures on Mercer Island are scheduled at night next week as the state Department of Transportation and Sound Transit continue work on construction of car-pool lanes and ramps between Mercer Island and Bellevue.
• I-90's center reversible lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday until 5 the following morning.
• The car-pool lane and up to two other lanes of westbound I-90 will be closed from Bellevue Way to East Mercer Way on Mercer Island overnight on Tuesday through Thursday. The car-pool lane will close at 7 p.m., followed by another lane at 9 p.m. and an additional lane at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 the following mornings.
• The two left lanes of westbound I-90 from East Mercer Way to West Mercer Way will be closed overnight on Saturday, Sept. 6, the first lane at 8 p.m. followed by the second at 11 p.m. Both lanes will reopen by 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7.
The I-90 trail over the East Channel Bridge between Bellevue and Mercer Island has been returned to its original width. Construction crews narrowed the pathway in July while a barrier was replaced and new lighting installed.
