Police: Lawyer slain in Tel Aviv blast
A car bomb blast in central Tel Aviv Wednesday killed a prominent Israeli lawyer, police said, in what they called a criminal bombing and not an attack by Palestinian militants.
Israeli media identified the victim as Yoram Hacham, 53, from Tel Aviv. The reports said that he represented figures in Israel's underworld.
"The incident was apparently a crime-linked attack," Tel Aviv police chief Ilan Franco told reporters.
In past years, Tel Aviv has been the target of many Palestinian bombing attacks, but recent blasts have been attributed to the local underworld.
