WASHINGTON — The on-again, off-again Republican version of the CNN/YouTube debate will be held Nov. 28.

The cable station announced Monday that the two-hour debate will be held in St. Petersburg, Fla., and urged online users to submit their questions. The debate had been scheduled for mid-September, but candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney said they couldn't participate because of previous campaign commitments.

The Democratic version in July stretched the boundaries of traditional political broadcasts, with variations on the typical questions and queries from a melting snowman and a woman in her bathroom.

Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, and Sen. John McCain have already signed on for the new date for the GOP debate, CNN spokeswoman Jennifer Dargan said.

She said the network had not yet heard from Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, who has been critical of the format. A Romney campaign spokeswoman didn't immediately return a call Monday.
