A man shot and wounded four co-workers Thursday at a factory that employs disabled people, authorities said.

Two men and two women were taken to hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening, Lt. Douglas Scheffel said.

Jason Burnam, 24, was arrested in the company cafeteria, where he was standing with a .38-caliber handgun, Police Chief Michael Spears said.

Burnam told officers he had targeted the victims and said "it was over respect," Scheffel said. Police did not elaborate.

A federal deputy marshal was charged Thursday with leaking information about a reputed mobster's cooperation with prosecutors as they investigated the top echelon of Chicago's organized-crime family.

John Thomas Ambrose, 38, surrendered Thursday at the FBI's Chicago office, officials said. Ambrose is accused of revealing information concerning the cooperation and travel plans of Nicholas Calabrese, who is expected to be a key witness in a murder-conspiracy case.

Ambrose appeared briefly before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael T. Mason, who released him on a $50,000 unsecured bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Jan. 30. Ambrose declined to comment as he left the courtroom, but defense attorney Francis C. Lipuma told reporters his client denies violating the law.

Sexual-abuse suit includes Vatican

Three men who claim childhood sexual abuse by priests can pursue damages from the Vatican in a negligence lawsuit, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II lets the men pursue their claim that top church officials should have warned the public or local authorities of known or suspected sexual abuse of children by priests in the Archdiocese of Louisville.

William McMurry, the plaintiffs' attorney, said the ruling could open the door to take depositions of Vatican officials and to get copies of church records and documents. "Our whole purpose is to hold the Vatican accountable," McMurry said.

Vatican officials declined to comment.

Would-be burglar gets stuck, dies

A man who tried to break into a craft and hobby store by crawling in through a cooling duct got stuck and died, authorities said.

The Missoula County coroner's office identified the man as Kenneth Ellingson, 37, of Missoula, and said the cause of death was positional asphyxiation.

Police found Ellingson wedged headfirst in a cooling duct, Lt. Mike Brady said. Authorities said the 6-foot-tall, 280-pound man got stuck in an L-shaped portion of the duct probably about 3 or 4 a.m.
