U.S. soldier killed in roadside bombing

BAGHDAD, Iraq — A U.S. soldier from Task Force Liberty was killed and two were wounded yesterday by a roadside bomb in Diyala province northeast of Baghdad, the military said.

At least 1,745 members of the U.S. military had died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.

Two suicide car bombers also wounded four Marines in the western town of Hit.
