BAGHDAD, Iraq — Attackers opened fire on a U.S. Army patrol in the Iraqi capital yesterday, killing one soldier, the military said. The Task Force Baghdad soldier died from a gunshot wound when his patrol in northeast Baghdad was attacked yesterday afternoon. The death brought to at least 1,519 the number of U.S. service members who have died in Iraq since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
