BAGHDAD, Iraq — A U.S. Marine was killed in action yesterday in Iraq's western Anbar province, the U.S. military said today. The military said the soldier belonged to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, but gave no other details.
At least 1,515 U.S. service members have died in Iraq since the United States invaded in March 2003. At least 1,156 died as a result of hostile action, according to the Pentagon.
