BAGHDAD, Iraq — Two U.S. soldiers were killed yesterday in attacks on separate American convoys, the military reported.

One was killed and four injured in a car-bomb attack in Baghdad; the second died and another soldier was injured in an attack west of Baghdad.

The deaths raised to at least 1,129 the number of U.S. service members to die in Iraq since the United States invaded in March 2003. At least 867 have died as a result of hostile action, according to Defense Department figures.
