What: Seven Democratic candidates vying for 22 delegates to the convention July 26 in Boston. Fourteen candidates are on the GOP ballot. About 40,000 independents may vote in either primary. When: Polls opened early today and close at 7 or 8 p.m. Media estimates will be made soon after polls close. At stake: Kerry hopes to stay front-runner, Dean looks to recover from Iowa setback, Edwards may build on momentum from second-place Iowa finish, Clark and Lieberman hope to establish credibility with third-place showing, Kucinich and Sharpton wish for a miracle.
