Last chance for crackups: Comedy competition comes to a close

Seattle International Stand Up Comedy Competition comes to an end Sunday, Nov. 29, with a final round at Seattle's Moore Theatre.

Nearly three weeks of competitive wisecracking comes to an end Sunday night at the Moore Theatre with the finals of the annual Seattle International Stand Up Comedy Competition. The five remaining contestants — winnowed from an original field of 32 — will each get 15 minutes to show their stuff.

Two comics in the top five are from Seattle: Rodger Lizaola and Travis Simmons. The other three are Paul Hooper (Charlotte, N.C.), Sean Kent (Austin, Texas) and Jose Sarduy (Miami).

The winner takes home $5,000 and a recording contract with Uproar Entertainment. 8 p.m. Sunday, 1932 Second Ave., Seattle; $18 (877-784-4849 or www.stgpresents.org).
