Kid-friendly ZooTunes gets kid-friendlier: child care coming to select shows
ZooTunes concert series at Woodland Park Zoo will offer child care at some 2009 shows: The B-52s (June 17), Mavis Staples and guest Allen Toussaint (June 24), and Three Girls and Their Buddy, featuring Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin and Buddy Miller (July 1 and 2).

Besides the good music and fun vibe, now there's one more reason to check out ZooTunes — the popular outdoor concert series will offer child care at select shows this summer.
These shows getting the special kid treatment include the B-52s (June 17), Mavis Staples with special guest Allen Toussaint (June 24), and Three Girls and Their Buddy, featuring Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Shawn Colvin and Buddy Miller (July 1-2). Of these, the B-52s show is already sold out.
Think you'd want to use the service? Children must be 4 to 11 years old and potty trained. Drop-off is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on the day of the show, at the ARC Building (adjacent to the zoo's West Entrance at North 55th Street and Phinney Avenue North). Activity will include games, puppet shows, a live animal encounter and a pizza dinner.
The first child costs $25 per evening, with each additional child from the same family costing $20. Preregistration is encouraged through www.zoo.org/zootunes, but drop-ins are welcome as well.
