Hip-hop crew the Knox Family releases "Only Love"

Seattle hip-hop crew the Knox Family celebrates their debut album release of "Only Love" Saturday at Chop Suey.

Seattle Times staff reporter

Seattle hip-hop crew the Knox Family celebrates their debut album release on Saturday. Named after characters from the film "Natural Born Killers, the crew mixes a gangsta sound with socially conscious words. Made up of local community teachers and artists Julie C., Jerm, and DJ B-Girl, the group reflects their activist roots. And their track record is solid — they've shared the stage with Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Mos Def and The Fugees.

Take a listen of their new album "Only Love" here — www.myspace.com/theknoxfamily.

The group's album-release party goes down 8 p.m. Saturday at Chop Suey, 1325 E. Madison St., Seattle. Tickets are $8 at ticketweb.com and $10 at the door.
