A&E Dispatch | "Doctor Noize" to play Seattle-area benefit concerts next week

Children's musician Doctor Noize is performing in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at The Vera Project in Seattle and the Firehouse Performing Arts Center in Bellingham.

Seattle Times staff reporter

Popular children's musician Doctor Noize is performing in the Seattle area in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The children's performer produces whimsical pop music on the spot, inviting the audience members to come up and join in on the creative process. He plays multiple instruments and uses computers to arrange and record the songs at the show.

Doctor Noize (otherwise known as Bay Area artist Cory Cullinan) has composed many soundtracks including the song "The Bad News" for the 2001 movie "Spy Game." He's written many documentary soundtracks, and his single, "Banana" peaked at No. 1 on XM Kids radio. (For more on Doctor Noize, go to — http://drnoize.com.)

While in the area next weekend, Doctor Noize will perform two benefit concerts, the first at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, at The Vera Project in Seattle Center. Tickets are $11 at the door and online at www.theveraproject.org.

The second show is 10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 17, at the Firehouse Performing Arts Center in Bellingham. Tickets are $10 at the door and available online at http://pages.teamintraining.org/wa/nbhtri09/rgerson.
