A&E Dispatch | Pink to kick off 2009 tour in Seattle
Pink (who also goes by P!nk) is kicking off her American tour in Seattle on September 15 at the WaMu Theater.
Seattle Times staff reporter
Pink is kicking off her first American tour since 2006 in Seattle.
As on Britney Spear's tour, the theme is circus inspired, though to Pink's credit, she came out with her album "Funhouse" first.
The first show is on Sept. 15 in Seattle at the WaMu Theater. The Ting Tings, who flew to fame after their spot in an Apple ad, will be opening.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Qwest Field Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, Ticketmaster's charge-by-phone line (800-745-3000) Ticketmaster Express (866-448-7849, an automated-only self service line) or online at Ticketmaster.com. They cost $39.50.
The European leg of her Pink's tour sold more than 1 million tickets. She sold out 28 arena shows in Germany, as well as 58 arena shows in Australia.
Pink (who also uses her stage name as P!nk) gives a fiery show. She first set the scene in 2000 with her R&B flavored hit, "There You Go," and has since moved into more pop and rock territory, selling over 30 million albums worldwide.
Her latest and fifth album, "Funhouse," has sold more than 3.5 million worldwide. Hear the latest single off the album at www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddZPrJ8ROto.
