Jobs are hard to come by these days, but Live Nation is offering an opportunity to pick up one for the summer. The concert promoter/venue operator has nearly 1,500 seasonal jobs at The Gorge, in Eastern Washington, and Auburn's White River Amphitheatre. Positions range from stagehands to T-shirt sellers, and pay around $9 to $15 per hour.
Live Nation has two upcoming job fairs to fill those positions: Thursday, April 23 at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Saturday, May 2 at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Applications are also available at The Gorge and the White River Amphitheatre.
Summer employees will get to work shows that include Coldplay, Nickelback, Rod Stewart and the Dave Matthews Band.
And be on the look out for The Decemberists, whose tickets go on sale this weekend. The Decemberists perform July 17 at Marymoor Park. Tickets are $28.50 and go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18 at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com and www.concertsatmarymoor.com, or charge by phone 206-628-0888.
The Portland indie rock band just released its fourth album, "The Hazards of Love," a mix that frontman Colin Meloy describes as British folk revival and classic metal. For a listen, go to — www.myspace.com/thedecemberists.
