Hardcoretet and Tower of Power bring jazz, funk to Seattle
Seattle groove jazz band Hardcoretet is giving a free concert at The Triple Door Musicquarium November 25. Plus, Tower of Power is performing at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley between Dec. 11 and 14.

Some funky shows to take note of this fine sunny Monday morning:
• Seattle groove jazz band Hardcoretet is giving a free concert at The Triple Door Musicquarium Tuesday, Nov. 25. The show goes from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Also playing: Chris Potter, Avishai Cohen, Jeff "Tain Watts," Joshua Redman, Mulgrew Miller, Brian Blade, Freddie Hubbard and Robert Glasper.

As one of the longest running jazz-funk-rock-soul bands, Tower of Power celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The band is known for such hits as "What is Hip?" and "You're Still a Young Man." Plus Tower of Power's A-list collaborators include: Elton John, Rod Stewart and Aerosmith.
