Jessica Simpson grand-opening headliner at Snoqualmie Casino next week
Snoqualmie Casino, the new Las Vegas-style gambling and entertainment venue east of Seattle, opens Nov. 6. Jessica Simpson is the grand-opening headliner on Nov. 7.
The People of the Moon, as members of the Snoqualmie Tribe call themselves, hope to shine come Thursday, when they open their new casino at 10 p.m.
Just a half-hour drive from downtown Seattle, Snoqualmie Casino is a major new entertainment venue on the Eastside, right off Interstate 90 at Exit 27.
With five restaurants, all nonsmoking, from a sushi and fresh-noodle bar to fine dining with more than 300 wines; a cigar bar; and live entertainment, the casino hopes to offer something even for nongamblers to enjoy.
As for those gamblers, they'll have 1,700 electronic slots, 50 table games and eight poker tables to choose from.
The 170,000-square-foot casino is designed with a grand lodge theme, including sweeping views of the Cascades. Entertainment options include dancing at nightclub Sno, plus events at the casino ballroom, from concerts to boxing to poker tournaments.
The upcoming entertainment lineup includes pop-country star Jessica Simpson, who will be the grand-opening headliner at 8 p.m. next Friday. Five-time Grammy winner Wynonna Judd performs Nov. 26, and Brazilian musician Sergio Mendes will appear Nov. 28. All tickets for the Simpson concert ($75-$175) are through Ticketmaster (206-628-0888 or www.ticketmaster.com).
Snoqualmie Casino, 37500 S.E. North Bend Way, Snoqualmie, will be open 24/7, 365 days a year. For more information, visit www.snocasino.com.
